Baku:An official luncheon was hosted on behalf of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, in honor of President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Thongloun Sisoulith, on October 13.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, following the luncheon, Presidents Aliyev and Sisoulith, along with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos, Thongsavanh Phomvihane, viewed photographs taken in 1986. These photographs captured the visit of National Leader Heydar Aliyev to Laos, during his tenure as First Deputy Chairman of the USSR Council of Ministers, and his meeting with Kaysone Phomvihane, who was then Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Laos.
Kaysone Phomvihane was the father of Thongsavanh Phomvihane, the current Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos.
