Azerbaijan Expresses Concern Over Media Claims Affecting Ties with T¼rkiye

Baku:The Media and Broadcasting Council has raised concerns about a rise in unfounded and biased claims in T¼rkiye’s media, especially on social media, that threaten the strong relationship between Azerbaijan and T¼rkiye. The Council emphasized that these posts, which disregard legal, diplomatic, and ethical norms, aim to damage the public perception of the two nations’ brotherly ties.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Council labeled these ongoing smear campaigns against Azerbaijan as regrettable and unacceptable. It pointed out the ease with which disinformation is spread and criticized the lack of responsive measures. The Council also noted that these posts are not random but part of a coordinated effort by certain groups, which contradicts both legal and ethical standards as well as T¼rkiye’s legislative requirements.

Azerbaijan is actively monitoring the situation and is considering legislative measures, including potential restrictions on entry into Azerbaijan for those organizing and executing the smear campaign. The Azerbaijani public demands action against attempts to weaken the historical, political, and moral ties between the two countries, expecting concrete steps to prevent such efforts.
