Hatay: Azerbaijan has expressed its support for the Hatay Declaration concerning Turkey’s presidency of COP31. The delegation from Azerbaijan, led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chief Negotiator of COP29, Yalçin Rafiyev, participated in the event “Trkiye’s Path to COP31: Sustainable Cities” held in Hatay, Turkey.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the event featured panel discussions, a high-level session, and a ministerial roundtable. Rafiyev highlighted the upcoming 13th session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13), scheduled to take place in Baku from May 17-22, as a vital contribution to the global urban planning agenda. He underscored the necessity of a coordinated approach between the COP31 and WUF processes and emphasized Azerbaijan’s readiness to collaborate closely with Turkey during its COP31 presidency.
