Azerbaijan Celebrates National Day at Expo 2025 in Osaka with Cultural Showcase

Osaka: The Azerbaijan National Day was held within the framework of the “Expo 2025” world exhibition in Osaka, Japan, APA reports. At this event, Japan’s “Expo 2025” ambassador and chief commissioner, Koji Haneda, and assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan’s chief commissioner for “Expo 2025,” Anar Alekberov, delivered speeches.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Koji Haneda emphasized Azerbaijan’s strategic position as a link between Asia and Europe. He highlighted that the national pavilion, inspired by Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi’s poem “Yeddi Gozel” (“Seven Beauties”), presents Azerbaijani culture and the country’s development to the Japanese public at “Expo 2025.”

Anar Alekberov, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan’s chief commissioner for “Expo 2025,” remarked on the long-standing friendship and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Japan. He noted the continuity of Azerbaijan’s participation in Expos, which began in Hannover in 2000 and continues today in Osaka. Azerbaijan’s pavilions at the Milan and Dubai world exhibitions have been recognized and were among the most visited. Anar Alekberov also mentioned that Azerbaijan was the first country to sign the participation agreement for “Expo 2025,” and the national pavilion is currently among the most visited.

Guests had the opportunity to visit both the Japan and Azerbaijan pavilions at “Expo 2025.” The Azerbaijani pavilion, located in the “Connecting Lives” section of the Expo, was created by the Heydar Aliyev Center. It revolves around the theme “Seven bridges for sustainability” and is based on the poem “Yeddi Gozel” (“Seven Beauties”) by Nizami Ganjavi. The pavilion highlights Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage, technological and sustainable development, and its openness to dialogue. It also features the “Tree of Friendship,” symbolizing the bond between Azerbaijan and Japan.
