Baku: Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, met with Muhsin Sentrk, Prosecutor General of the Supreme Court of Appeal of Trkiye, to discuss the evolving relationship between the two nations.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the officials underscored the steady development of friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Trkiye under the guiding motto of National Leader Heydar Aliyev: ‘One nation, two states.’ They highlighted the importance of their leaders’ brotherly relations in nurturing bilateral ties.
The meeting emphasized cooperation between the legislative bodies of both countries, lauding the existing interparliamentary cooperation, including the efforts of interparliamentary working groups. The officials stressed the value of mutual engagement within interparliamentary platforms, noting that these contribute to regional peace, stability, and cooperation.
Speaker Sahiba Gafarova highlighted the significance of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Prosecutor General Offices of the two countries in 2021. She praised the activities of the Council of Prosecutors General of the Organization of Turkic States.
Muhsin Sentrk remarked that bilateral relations are developing according to the cooperation agenda set by the leaders of the two countries, encompassing all areas. The meeting also addressed the productive collaboration between the Prosecutor General Offices of Azerbaijan and Trkiye.
