Accra:The Azerbaijan Society of Appraisers and the National Association of Authorized Romanian Valuers (ANEVAR) have formalized their collaboration by signing a memorandum of cooperation. This agreement was signed by Vugar Oruj, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Society of Appraisers, and Ioan Bercu, President of ANEVAR.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the memorandum aims to enhance the exchange of valuation experience, strengthen professional ties, implement joint initiatives, and promote international cooperation between the two organizations.
Before the signing ceremony, a meeting was held at ANEVAR’s premises, attended by Vugar Oruj, former ANEVAR President Adrian Popa Bochi?, ANEVAR employee Elena Apostolescu, and a representative from the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Romania. During this meeting, discussions focused on the activities and strategic development directions of both organizations, their international relations, and potential joint projects.
The parties explored ways to expand relations between the professional organizations of the two countries and discussed integrating Azerbaijani valuers into the European valuation framework. Vugar Oruj emphasized the importance of exchanging experience between Azerbaijani and Romanian valuers.
A significant topic of discussion was the proposal to host the European Group of Valuers’ Associations (TEGOVA) meeting in Baku in 2028. The parties agreed on Romania’s support for this initiative in the upcoming TEGOVA meeting scheduled for October 21-25. The year 2028 will mark the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Azerbaijan Society of Appraisers, and hosting the TEGOVA meeting in Baku would offer an opportunity to commemorate this milestone with European valuation organizations.
ANEVAR’s leadership extended an invitation to the Azerbaijan Society of Appraisers to participate in events celebrating the 35th anniversary of the Romanian organization in 2027. They also congratulated the Azerbaijan Society of Appraisers on its admission to TEGOVA membership, noting that this opens new avenues for Azerbaijani valuers to collaborate with European colleagues, gain from international experiences, and elevate professional standards.
