Baku: On July 28, Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture Anar Guliyev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Azerbaijan, Omar Barakat al-Nahar, the Committee informed APA. The meeting focused on potential opportunities for collaboration in urban planning, construction, and settlement between the two countries. Emphasis was placed on the importance of establishing relations between relevant agencies. Current projects in Baku and other districts, including territories liberated from occupation, were highlighted as examples of modern urban planning standards.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Ambassador Omar Barakat al-Nahar expressed appreciation for the large-scale reconstruction efforts in Karabakh and East Zangezur. He emphasized the creation of extensive opportunities for ensuring comfortable and safe living conditions for people returning to their native lands. Anar Guliyev thanked Jordan for its support of the ‘Multisectoral Action Pathways for Sustainable and Healthy Cities’ Declaration, adopted during the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. Guliyev also invited the Jordanian side to the 3rd Azerbaijan National Urban Planning Forum and the 13th World Urban Planning Forum, which Baku will host from May 17-22 next year.
