Azerbaijan and EU Discuss Future Cooperation in Key Areas

Baku: Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov held a meeting with Magdalena Grono, the European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus, to discuss the current state and future prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union (EU). The discussions covered a wide range of sectors including political, economic, transport, and energy security, as well as regional and international issues.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting emphasized the importance of the agreements reached on various cooperation platforms and instruments, with both sides keen on taking the next steps to deepen their collaborative efforts. Discussions also touched on the significant outcomes from the visit of President of the European Council Ant³nio Costa to Azerbaijan, exploring possible cooperation mechanisms between Azerbaijan and the EU.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of resuming negotiations on a new bilateral agreement and the discussions surrounding the Partnership Priorities document. Both parties exchanged views on the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization and peace process, alongside other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
