Azerbaijan and China Strengthen Legal Ties During Prosecutor General’s Visit

Shanghai: An Azerbaijani delegation led by Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev paid a working visit to Shanghai at the invitation of Ying Yong, Chief Grand Prosecutor and Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate (SPP) of the People’s Republic of China. As part of the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation met with the Prosecutor General of the SPP of the People’s Republic of China.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Ying Yong described Azerbaijan and China as strategic partners. Highlighting the ongoing cooperation across various areas, the Chief Grand Prosecutor acknowledged the development of partnership between Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General’s Office and the Supreme People’s Procuratorate of the People’s Republic of China.

Kamran Aliyev emphasized China’s support for Azerbaijan’s political initiatives within different international platforms over the years. He noted that in recent years, mutual relations between the countries have developed on an upward trajectory, reaching the level of strategic partnership due to the political will and efforts of the heads of state.

The sides exchanged views on the fight against various forms of crime, practical cooperation, as well as prospects for enhancing legal and institutional cooperation. An agreement was reached on the Azerbaijani prosecutors’ involvement in training courses at Chinese higher education institutions.

Kamran Aliyev also extended an invitation to his Chinese counterpart to visit Azerbaijan to further enhance relations.
