Hanoi:Azerbaijan and Cambodia regard peace and security as essential for development, as emphasized by President Ilham Aliyev during a joint press statement with Cambodia’s Prime Minister Hun Manet.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, President Aliyev stressed that ensuring peace and security must be based on respect for international law, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He highlighted that after a 30-year occupation, Azerbaijan restored its territorial integrity and sovereignty through force, with the Azerbaijani government now controlling all its lands.
Large-scale reconstruction efforts are underway in areas previously occupied by Armenian forces, with the implementation of the Great Return program. Currently, approximately 100,000 people have returned to live and work in these territories. President Aliyev noted that both Azerbaijan and Cambodia have faced similar challenges and are united by their commitment to international law.
