Azerbaijan Allocates $590 Million for Humanitarian Demining Efforts


Anama: Azerbaijan has demonstrated strong national will and responsibility in addressing the landmine problem. Since November 2020, approximately $590 million has been allocated for humanitarian demining efforts in the country,’ said Vugar Suleymanov, Chairman of the Board of the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, during the opening ceremony of the 4th International Mine Action Conference.



According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, about 4 percent of this amount has been provided through international support, while the remaining part has been covered by the Government of Azerbaijan.
