Ganja: Ambassador Ronen Krausz expressed a strong sense of connection and potential for enhanced relations between Azerbaijan and Israel during his recent visit to Ganja, Azerbaijan. This marked his third visit to the city, the previous ones occurring over a decade ago. The visit to the Ganja Memorial Complex left a deep impression on him, emphasizing the shared experiences of both nations in facing tragic events.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Ambassador Krausz found the visit to the memorial complex to be a moving experience, highlighting the importance of preserving the memory of those who lost their lives in the attacks on Ganja. He noted the shared understanding between Azerbaijan and Israel due to similar past experiences, underlining a profound bond between the two countries. Krausz emphasized the significance of Azerbaijan’s efforts to maintain this historical memory and convey it to future generations.
During his visit, Ambassador Krausz was particularly affected by the ruins of destroyed buildings and the loss of children’s lives during the attacks. He expressed a personal connection to these tragedies, reflecting on the universal hope for a better future for children and families.
Ambassador Krausz also assessed the existing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Israel as exceptionally friendly, with collaboration spanning areas such as energy, defense, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, tourism, agriculture, and water resource management. He highlighted the importance of the Jewish community in Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani diaspora in Israel as key factors in strengthening bilateral ties.
Furthermore, Ambassador Krausz saw new opportunities for expanding cooperation, particularly in business, economic, and academic spheres. He mentioned the potential for enhanced collaboration between the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University in Ganja and Israeli institutions. Krausz expressed hope for further initiatives that would deepen the relationship between Azerbaijan and Israel, contributing to mutual growth and understanding.
