Mecca: The 41st session of the General Assembly of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development took place in Mecca as part of the 3rd Mecca Halal Forum. A delegation led by the President of the Azerbaijan Confederation of Entrepreneurs, Mammad Musayev, attended the meeting.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the session commenced with an opening speech by Abdullah Saleh Kamel, Chairman of the Chamber’s Board of Directors. He highlighted the Chamber’s progress since its inception and expressed optimism for enhanced activities and outcomes from the newly formed Board of Directors, which includes representatives from various countries. Kamel also presented the Chamber’s annual activity report, discussed upcoming projects, and conveyed wishes for the prosperity and peace of member states.
The session featured extensive deliberations on agenda items, culminating in the re-election of Abdullah Saleh Kamel as the head of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development. The Assembly also reviewed the Chamber’s overall budget and financial plans for several projects. Member states received detailed briefings on events slated for 2026, including the acceptance of Kenya as a new member of the Chamber.
During the discussions, it was confirmed that Baku will host the Sustainable Agriculture Exhibition from May 5 to 8, 2026, as part of the Chamber’s official events plan.
