Zhaparov inspects reconstruction and construction of roads in Issyk-Kul

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov inspected the course of reconstruction and construction of internal roads in Karakol town of Issyk-Kul Oblast, his press service reported Friday.

Reconstruction of some of the most important roads in Karakol – Torgoev, Toktogul and Przhevalskiy streets – is nearing completion.

The president was informed that the total length of asphalt concrete pavement on Torgoev Street is more than 1,100 meters. For many years this street has not been overhauled.

The total estimated cost of the project, financed by the Issyk-Kul Oblast Development Fund and the local budget of Karakol, is KGS 75 million. It is planned to complete all works by July 20 of this year.

The estimated cost of the project of 2 km 600 m of Toktogul Street, financed from the national budget, is KGS 175 million. As of today, reconstruction works are 90% completed, and the object will be commissioned by July 15.

As for Przhevalskiy street, the last major overhaul was conducted in 1960-1970.

To date, 1.8 km of water pipeline has been laid under the road on the above street, which is considered the junction from the south to the north of Karakol. All construction work will be completed by Aug. 31.

In addition, it is planned to to build 38 km of sidewalks in Karakol, the estimated cost of which is KGS 100 million, as well as milling 5 km of main roads and more than 4,300 m of reconstruction of the central roads to the amount of KGS 240 million.

Thus, more than 15 km of main roads and 60 km of sidewalks will be repaired in Karakol in 2022.

After hearing the information, Sadyr Zhaparov stressed that work on the reconstruction and construction of roads is slow, and noted the need to accelerate the implementation of these projects.

Relevant government agencies have been instructed to complete the reconstruction and monitor the timely and quality performance of all necessary work to avoid the inefficient spending of public funds.
