Yelzhan Birtanov appointed Minister of Healthcare
Yelzhan Birtanov was appointed the Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Akorda Press Service informs.
The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.Nazarbayev signed the decree on appointment on January 25, 2017, (#414).
Born October 18, 1971, prior to new appointment Y.Birtanov served as the Vice Minister of Health and Social Development.
In 1994 he graduated from Almaty State Medical Institute, Arizona State University in Tucson, Intensive Care and Toxicology; in 2007 � from Turan University with degree in Economics.
1994-1998, toxicologist, resuscitator, head of information and advisory center of Almaty emergency hospital; 1998-1999, head of Almaty city poison control center; 1999-2005, head of National Toxicology Center, chief toxicologist of Almaty and the Ministry of Healthcare of Kazakhstan; 2000-2008, head, lecturer of clinical toxicology course of Almaty State Medical Institute of Postgraduate Education; 2005-2008, Director of Healthcare Development Institute of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan; March-December 2008, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan � Deputy CEO of National Medical Holding JSC; 2008-2010, Vice Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan; 2010-2013, CEO of National Medical Holding JSC; 2013-2014, Medical Advisor to the Nazarbayev University; 2014-2015, CEO of the Center for PPP Support; November 2015 � January 2017, Vice Minister of Health and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
