Y. Birtanov gets acquainted with progress of healthcare digitalization projects in WKR

WKR was one of the first regions to be chosen as a platform for the implementation of a pilot project on paperless workflow. The pilot involved about 40 health organizations in the region.

Yelzhan Birtanov also visited the city polyclinic No. 3 in Uralsk where the mobile application “Patient’s Cabinet” was presented. Through this mobile application users can make an appointment or call a doctor at home, see the prescriptions written and the results of laboratory studies, download sick lists. The management of the polyclinic demonstrated how the medical information system functions and how the Electronic Queue works.

Another site visited was the regional clinical hospital where the medical information system KazmedInfor, and the entire paperless process as a whole, from the registry to the patient’s discharge, were presented. This information system provides online communication with all medical organizations. KazmedInform allows reducing the number of medical errors, contributing to the continuity of medical care, improving the quality of medical services, etc.

In the Regional Health Department, the minister held a meeting in a selective mode with eight regions of Kazakhstan, which became sites for the implementation of a pilot project on the introduction of paperless workflow within the framework of the State program Digital Kazakhstan. During the meeting, the regions reported on the progress of the projects, exchanged experience and were given a chance to address questions to the minister.

In addition, Yelzhan Birtanov visited Zelenovsky district, where he got acquainted with the work and progress of the project on paperless workflow in the district hospital located in the village of Darinskoye, as well as with the medical dispensary in the Trekino village and midwife point in the village of Volodarskoe.

On the same day, the minister met with the region’s medical community at the city’s multi-profile hospital, at which akim of the West Kazakhstan region, Altai Kulginov, also took part. During the meeting, the main issues of the healthcare system and digitalization of the region were discussed.
