World Health Day to be celebrated in Kazakhstan
The World Health Day is celebrated annually on April 7, on the day of the founding of the WHO. The event provides the unique opportunity to address pressing health problems that concern people around the world and to outline ways to address them. The World Health Day 2017 will be held under the motto “Depression: Let’s Talk”, proclaimed by the WHO.
Depression is a disease characterized by a constant state of despondency and loss of interest in activities that usually bring satisfaction, as well as inability to perform daily activities for at least two weeks.
According to the WHO estimates, 350 million people worldwide suffer from depression.
The organizations of primary health care will organize free consultations of specialized specialists in order to raise public awareness about the importance of maintaining and strengthening mental health, reducing the spread of mental disorders. In addition, PHC organizations are planning to conduct interviews with patients who have manifestations of depression, as well as with people who need help for the timely prevention of depression and mental health promotion.
The specialized health schools will hold classes to protect mental health, create a favorable psychological climate in the family, and seminars for health professionals to prevent depression, improve communication skills, especially with young people, adolescents, patients with chronic non-communicable diseases.
