Working meeting of reps of intelligence agencies and border guards of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan
A working meeting of representatives of the intelligence agencies and border guards of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan was held, the press service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan reported.
Yesterday, Nov.3 Isfara city, Sughd Region (Tajikistan) hosted the working meeting of representatives of intelligence agencies and border agencies of the two countries.
The delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic was headed by Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan Orozbek Opumbayev, and Tajikistan – by Chairman of the State Committee for National Security Saimumin Yatimov.
At the meeting, the sides focused on ensuring security in the border areas of the two republics.
The meeting also included discussion of improving the effectiveness of interagency cooperation in combating manifestations of terrorism and extremism.
The sides agreed on the need to strengthen cooperation in ensuring security on the border between the two countries and jointly combat the subversive activities of religious extremist and international terrorist organizations, the press service said.
It was decided to assist in providing conditions for fruitful work of the intergovernmental commission on delimitation and demarcation of the state border of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan.
The parties reached mutual agreement and understanding on all the issues discussed.
