Women’s economic empowerment to be discussed at round table in Kyrgyz capital
Kyrgyz capital Bishkek Friday, Dec. 13 will host the round table on “Economic Empowerment of Vulnerable Women in Kyrgyzstan” .
The event is organized by AFEW-Kyrgyzstan with the financial support of the UN Women Fund for Gender Equality.
The round table will be attended by representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations, business structures, as well as representatives of UN Women.
The meeting participants will share the results of the three-year work of the project, and discuss further steps to strengthen the role of women and the development of women’s entrepreneurship.
Each of the women participating in the project found themselves in a difficult situation.
In the project, they took courses on personal growth, financial literacy and business planning. Many of the participants received financial support to develop their own business ideas and are already earning their own money for life.
Vulnerable women project participants will tell their stories, share their experience of participation in the project, as well as talk about how women can start their own businesses and where to find support and strength.
