Waste processing plant to be built in Kyzylorda rgn

As explained, this project will improve the sanitary situation of the city, reduce the risks of contamination of soil, surface and ground water, greenhouse gas emissions. The project aims to improve the environmental situation of Kyzylorda. The project is financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Government of Kazakhstan, akimat of the region and international clean technology fund.

The project is planned to develop environmentally friendly electricity and heat from biogas. The new plant creates permanent job places.

In cooperation with the EBRD, 10 projects have been agreed, 4 projects for the modernization of the regional center of life-supporting infrastructure have already been launched – passenger transportation systems, automation and expansion of municipal infrastructure of the regional center (heat, water, electricity).

At the signing ceremony of the agreement with the EBRD, akim of Kyzylorda oblast Krymbek Kusherbayev told about the work conducted to attract the resources of international financial institutions.

EBRD Director for Kazakhstan, Mrs. Janet Hackman, in turn, noted that Kyzylorda region is a pilot region for the implementation of “green” technologies and expressed hope for further successful cooperation.
