Visa-free regime and the opening of direct flights. Senate head meets Jordanian ambassador

Issues of further strengthening bilateral cooperation were discussed during a meeting of the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament, Dariga Nazarbayeva, with the Ambassador of Jordan to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Youssef Abdelgani.

The head of the Senate noted the great contribution of Jordan and personally King Abdullah II to the settlement of complex processes in the Middle East.

We highly value the activities of our country’s close friend, King Abdullah II, in reforming the social and political life and economy of the Kingdom, as well as a constructive position on pressing international problems. The King’s visit to Kazakhstan in November 2017 is especially important. Given the efforts of Abdullah II in matters of peace and stability in the Middle East, he became the first owner of the “Nazarbayev Prize for his contribution to a world without nuclear weapons and global security.”

The interlocutors noted the similarity of the positions of Nur-Sultan and Amman on most international and regional problems. The Senate Chairwoman, Head of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, spoke about the preparations for the next meeting of the Secretariat and expressed gratitude to the Jordanian side for their support and active participation in the forum.

The Ambassador of Jordan expressed a request – to make a visa-free regime for citizens of Jordan and to open direct flights between our countries. This will expand trade and economic cooperation, develop tourism potential and will facilitate the influx of Jordanian students.

Dariga Nazarbayeva supported the Ambassador’s proposals, emphasizing the importance of a visa-free regime for strengthening cooperation between our countries.
