V World Kurultai of Kazakhs to be held in Astana on June 22-25 this year
Today at Ukimet Uyi First Deputy Prime Minister Askar Mamin chaired the first meeting of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of the 5th World Kurultai of Kazakhs.
A. Mamin noted that since 1992 the Kurultai has been held once every five years. The current, fifth Kurultai will be held in Astana from June 22 to 25 this year. The grand opening of the event will be held on June 23 in Nazarbayev University.
The meeting heard reports of Deputy Minister of Culture and Sport A. Raimkulova, First Deputy Chairman of the World Association of Kazakhs T. Mamasheva.
As A. Raimkulova reported, 350 foreign representatives of the Kazakh diaspora from 38 countries of the world, as well as 370 representatives of the Kazakh intelligentsia and the World Association of Kazakhs will take part in the fifth Kurultai.
Within the framework of the Kurultai there will be an international conference Khalifa Altai and the return of history, the delegates will be provided with an excursion to the sights of the capital, a visit to the international exhibition EXPO-2017, the Ethnoaul complex. A number of Ministries will hold round tables and seminars.
Following the meeting, the First Deputy Prime Minister gave a number of specific instructions to Akimats of the cities of Astana and Almaty, concerned Government agencies.
A. Mamin stressed the need for holding the Kurultai at a high organizational level.
