Uzbek, Russian servicemen conduct joint military exercises
Servicemen of Russia and Uzbekistan conducted the Vostok (East) 2019 joint tactical exercises, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan reported Thursday.
The exercises took place at the Gurumsarai training ground in Uzbekistan’s Ferghana Valley.
The main goal is to increase the knowledge of servicemen on professional training, to strengthen their combat potential, as well as to exchange experience in the fight against international terrorism.
During the trainings, participants practiced the task of identifying and destroying a group of militants who had planned subversive activities in border areas.
At the closing ceremony, the high level of the conducted exercises was noted, which provided an excellent opportunity for both countries to exchange experiences.
