The incidence of echinococcosis and alveococcosis remains one of the pressing health problems in Kyrgyzstan.

According to the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance, from 800 to 1500 cases are detected annually, while up to 1 thousand people are treated by surgery, including up to 200 people with alveococcosis.

Echinococcosis are helminthiases from the group of cestodoses, characterized by a severe chronic course, primary tumor-like liver damage, often with metastases to the brain and lungs, as well as to many other organs. The disease is often fatal.

For the purpose of early detection of persons infected with alveococcosis and echinococcosis, as well as establishing the true picture of the spread by specialists of the Department of State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance of the Ministry of Health, together with specialists of Medical Academy organized a medical examination by instrumental and laboratory method (ultrasound, IFA), as well as research on intestinal helminthiasis with a questionnaire.

Carrying out active, early detection and diagnosis of patients with echinococcosis and alveococcosis among the population using ultrasound makes it possible to carry out professional conservative treatment of the disease without leading to surgical interventions.
