by May 30, 2018 Market

It is planned in Kazakhstan to pass on the equipment unused by defence agencies to the Ministry of Defense and Aerospace Industry. This was announced by Minister Beibut Atamkulov, presenting the bill On the defense industry and the state defense order in plenary session of the Majilis.

In order to unburden defence agencies from nonrelevant functions, it is proposed to give to the Ministry the right to dispose of unused military property and unused weapons and military equipment of special state and law enforcement agencies, Beibut Atamkulov said.

The Minister explained what the right to manage this property intends.

The right of disposal involves the transfer of the said property to the organizations of the defense industry complex for modernization, development of new types of weapons and military equipment. In the absence of such a need, it is sold, provided that it is exported, and if there’s a possibility of repair and modernization in the organizations of the defense industry complex, as well as for processing and dismantlement, Beibut Atamkulov concluded.
