The Kyrgyz capital city of Bishkek hosted on Wednesday the Kyrgyz-Emirati Business Forum as part of a visit of UAE Minister of Economy Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri and Chairman of the UAE Chamber of Commerce Abdullah Mohamed Al Mazrouei to Kyrgyzstan.

The event was attended by leading companies from the United Arab Emirates and the Kyrgyz Republic in various sectors such as aviation, energy, trade, investment and industry.

The visiting delegation consisted of big UAE companies operating in all spheres of the economy, such as Mazdar, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, Foody World Foodstuff Trading, Corodex Industries, United Food Company, Royal Strategic Partners and others.

UAE Economy Minister Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri noted in his speech that a bilateral meeting was held earlier to discuss the potential for relations, especially in the economy.

“I don’t have many trips during the year and I chose Kyrgyzstan as one of the most important places. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, your country has become our important partner in Central Asia. There have been direct investments both from the UAE to Kyrgyzstan and vice versa. We can increase the exchange of our mutual trade. We have great potential. Kyrgyzstan is a very important place for trade, for tourism. The signing of the memorandum of understanding is an important step. By signing it, our business communities commit themselves to improve relations,” the UAE minister shared.

Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri added that the UAE government has big goals for recovery from the pandemic.

“Our economy attracted more than USD 20 billion in direct investment last year alone. In the past few years, we have implemented a number of important reforms. We have passed or changed more than 40 laws. We are setting requirements for foreign companies. We are doing everything to make it easier to attract professionals from all over the world,” added the head of the foreign delegation.
