TUNISIAN PREMIER RELIEVES ENERGY MINISTER, OTHER SENIOR OFFICIALS
Tunisian Prime Minister, Yusef Al Shahid, relieved today, Minister of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energies, Khalid Gaddour, and Minister of State for Mines, Hashim Hamidi, as well as, the Director General of the Tunisian Company for Petroleum Activities, and the Director General for Legal Affairs, at the Ministry of Energy, over corruption suspicions.
There are no red lines in the war on corruption, and no one has immunity in this war, the Tunisian News Agency, quoted him as saying.
We want a state of law and transparency, he added, sending a message of assurance to the new investors, in the energy sector, on the sidelines of the periodic meeting today, with the ministers at the National Army Officers Club.
He stressed that, pressing ahead with investment in the energy sector does not mean looting the resources of the Tunisian people, and exploiting them and exploiting them without transparency.
Concerning criticism related to corruption in the energy sector, the Tunisian Premier asserted that, the war on corruption is going ahead, and everyone is aware of the big problems in the energy sector.
He added that, this issue is big and needs more transparency and enforcement of the law, by the new investors.
