Tugan Zher”: Akmola rgn to create “Kumai” ethnopark


M. Murzalin visited the archaeological and ethnographic complex “Kumai”, located 120 kilometers from Astana.

Manager of the project on the study of cultural heritage objects in the Kumai Valley, professor of Gumilyov Eurasian National University, turkologist Aiman Dossymbayeva presented the project on creation of “Kumai” ethnopark, which is considered as an object of republican and international tourism in the framework of the “Tugan Zher” program.

“The creation of a landscape, archaeological and ethnographic park will provide visitors with a model of ancient and medieval cultural heritage on the territory of Kazakhstan”, A. Dossymbayeva said.

By the way, on the territory of the “Kumai” complex, archaeologists revealed the whole series of new monuments, the chronology of which is within the framework of the four thousand-year history. This is the only multicomponent cultural complex in Kazakhstan, which includes monuments of the Bronze Age, the Early Iron Age, Hunnic and classical Turkic and ethnographic periods of development.

In addition, M. Murzalin visited the historical museum of local lore named after Bogenbai batyr and instructed to modernize it within the framework of the “Rukhani Zhangyru” program.
