TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS OPPORTUNITIES OF KAZAKHSTAN CONTRIBUTE TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF TRADE BETWEEN ASIA AND EUROPE
The first international exhibition and conference “Caspian Ports & Shipping 2019” was held in Aktau.
About 300 representatives of railway Maritime, transport, logistics companies, shippers, suppliers of port equipment and services took part in the international exhibition.
At the conference, experts and specialists from over 30 international transport and logistics companies discussed global trends in the development of the economy and regional trade using the transport infrastructure of the Caspian region.
At the conference session “World market and International Logistics. Development and improvement of trade routes between Asia and Europe” was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of logistics of NC “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC Pavel Sokolov.
In his speech, P. Sokolov informed the audience about the wide range of transport and logistics services provided by KTZ and stressed that “the main efforts of the Company are aimed at attracting additional volumes of goods delivered through the territory of Kazakhstan.” After all, the share of income from transit traffic in the total revenue structure at the level of 30% with 13% of the total turnover.
“We can offer a variety of options for the delivery of goods from China to Europe and back along the transport corridors passing through Kazakhstan,” Pavel Sokolov said and focused on the main routes.
The combination of the Kazakh program “Nurly Zhol” and the Chinese initiative “One Belt One Road” and the implementation of this project is already yielding results. The transport and logistics infrastructure formed in Kazakhstan creates favorable conditions for the development of transit traffic. Measures for accelerated and safe passage of trains are also aimed at attracting freight traffic.
“We direct all our business activity to the development of relations with the Railways of neighboring countries to maintain the transit time offered by our logistics companies”,- said the speaker.
He also said that in order to attract the return traffic from Europe to China through the port of Aktau and improve the competitiveness of the TRANS-Caspian route, lowering coefficients were established.
According to P. Sokolov, there are great prospects for cooperation with Iranian companies for the growth of cargo transportation through the port of Aktau.
“In General, we want to use our transport and logistics infrastructure as much as possible, to increase the level of customer focus, to do everything necessary to ensure that Kazakhstan’s export goods are delivered to consumers with minimal costs on the way,” the Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of KTZ said.
