Trade and economic investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Singapore discussed in Ukimet Uyi
At the meeting, issues of expanding trade and economic investment cooperation in the field of green economy, business, logistics and finance were discussed. For 25 years Kazakhstan and Singapore have established a constructive dialogue in all directions, a positive trend in the development of bilateral cooperation within international organizations has been formed.
The participants also exchanged experience on introduction of digital technologies in the justice system and successful implementation of Smart City projects.
Sagintayev noted that for Kazakhstan, Singapore is a key partner in Southeast Asia and ASEAN. Taking into account the well-recognized reputation of Singapore as trade and financial, transport and logistics, and technological hub, the building of trade, economic and investment cooperation remains the priority of bilateral relations.
The Prime Minister emphasized positive changes in dynamics of bilateral trade turnover, which amounted to $123.7 million in a year’s period. Lately the bilateral arrangements became considerably more active. The Eurasian Economic Union is also opening new opportunities for Singapore investors in Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan supports Singapore’s initiative on concluding the Agreement on Free Trade with the EAEU.
In addition, today the expansion of business contacts is taking place as a result of cancellation of visa regime by Kazakhstan on a unilateral basis for Singapore citizens for 30 days.
