Tokayev instructed to improve teacher’s status


President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, received Minister of Education and Science, Kulyash Shamshidinova, the press service of Akorda reported.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted the importance of further work on the elimination of three-shift training, the construction of new schools, the phased transition to trilingual education, as well.

The Minister of Education reported on the ongoing work on the development of technical and vocational education, especially in terms of establishing cooperation between business and educational institutions. In addition, issues were raised about the quality of higher professional education and the compliance of university graduates with the current requirements of the labor market.

Following the meeting, the President of Kazakhstan stressed that the issues of the education system will always be under his scrutiny, and instructed to eliminate unnecessary reports of school teachers and university professors, taking concrete measures to improve the status of a teacher, as well as state support for national scientists, especially humanitarian, conducting research in the state language
