TOKAYEV CHECKS SEVERAL INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS IN ALMATY
The President of Kazakhstan has arrived in Almaty and familiarized with the rebuilding plans of the international airport in the southern capital, Strategy2050.kz reports with reference to the press service of Akorda.
Deputy CEO of TAV Airports Holding Serkan Kaptan informed the Head of State about the construction of a new terminal. The project cost is estimated at 150 million euros, the total area of the terminal will be 55 thousand square meters, passenger traffic – 6 million people per year. It is expected that the terminal will be opened in the 2nd quarter of 2022.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed hope that after the completion of the reconstruction, Almaty Airport will become the largest aviation hub in Central Asia.
The President was also presented with a project for the construction of a 784-meter long transport interchange at the intersection of Bukhtarminskaya Street and Kuldzhinsky Trakt.
According to the Head of State, this facility will improve the situation on the roads and make life more comfortable for citizens.
