Timur Shaimergenov appointed Deputy Minister of Defense and Aerospace Industry

By Government Decree, Timur Shaimergenov was appointed to the post of Deputy Minister of Defense and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Timur Shaimergenov was born in 1982 in Zhambyl region. In 2004 he graduated from the Institute of International Professions in Almaty, in 2009 he defended his thesis for the degree of Candidate of Political Science at the Kazakhstan Institute of Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2009-2017, he attended executive education programs at Harvard, Oxford, Cambridge, Pennsylvania, and Columbia Universities.

He is qualified as specialist in international relations and security, strategic management and risk management. He speaks Kazakh, Russian, and English.

He began his career in 2004 in the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, held various positions at the Kazakhstan Institute of Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the administrative office of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Security Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He is a member of the Public Council under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Prior to his appointment to the Ministry of Defense and Aerospace Industry, he worked in the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

He was awarded with medals 25 Anniversary of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, 20 Anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 25 Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 25 Anniversary of the Diplomatic Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 25 Anniversary of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
