The role of women in diplomacy was noted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
ASTANA, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted a solemn meeting dedicated to the International Women’s Day.
“In the East there is a meaningful saying:” A woman walks a cow with one hand and with the other a hand shakes the world. ” Women are a cornerstone of a healthy society, the world’s peace, and the beauty of our environment. In our society, a woman is more than just a family-friendly person, and they are also involved in state and political issues. Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Beibut Atamkulov said in his welcoming speech: “Ladies and gentlemen working in the field of diplomatic service, as well as the excellent example of great responsibility, can contribute to the protection and advancement of our country’s foreign policy.”
The Minister said that in the past decade, the number of women in the foreign ministry has doubled and nowadays constitutes a third of the Foreign Affairs Ministry staff. A number of employees of the Ministry were awarded with letters of gratitude for the spring holiday.
Diplomatic service of Kazakhstan is rich in achievements of women, who achieved great success in their work for the Motherland. Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassadors Byrganym Aitimova, Madina Zharbusynova, Zhanar Aitzhanova, Mainyura Myrzamadiyeva, Raushan Esbolatova, Aigul Kuspan, Ambassadors Zulfiya Amanzholova, South Officer of the Kazakh SSR Balzhan Birtirikova, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kazakh SSR, The head of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) on Africa, Zhuldyz Akisheva. Today, 24 women are in charge of the central office of the MFA. In the center and abroad women are fully involved in the mission of protecting the state interests.
