THE RECORD NUMBER OF TRAINS PER DAY PASSED THROUGH THE BORDER CROSSING BETWEEN KAZAKHSTAN AND CHINA
17 trains were exchanged on average per day, which is a record in the history of the border crossing between Kazakhstan and China At Dostyk and Alashankou stations on October 29-30 this year.
This was the result of measures taken by the railway administrations of the two countries to increase the volume of traffic through this crossing.
Recall that in September this year at the 28th Meeting of the Mixed commissions of the border Railways of Kazakhstan and China, an agreement was reached on the reception and transfer of 14 trains per day on average on the broad gauge Dostyk station, in the fourth quarter – at least 15 trains.
For 10 months of this year, the volume of cargo transportation by rail between the two countries amounted to 14.2 million tons, which is 13.4% higher than the OSJD plan and 23.8% more than the same period last year.
In 2019, thanks to the strengthened joint work of specialists from both sides, the volume of traffic can reach 16.5 million tons, which exceeds the agreed plan-by 1.5 million tons and the indicators of 2018-by 2.5 million tons.
