The number of specialists in the field of art grows in Kazakhstan
Today, the Government meeting chaired by Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev discussed issues of developing and modernizing cultural facilities in the field of education.
Reporting on the measures to popularize cultural facilities, Minister of Education and Science Y. Sagadiyev spoke about the sharp increase in the number of students, which will eventually work in museums and give an impetus to their operation. In the 2016-2017 academic year, the contingent of students in the field of art is more than 19 thousand people, and last year the number of graduates was 2.5 thousand people. In vocational education institutions and technical schools, about 13 thousand people study in arts and culture.
Speaking about measures to popularize cultural facilities, the Minister said that the topics of lessons in the subjects Learning the World, History of Kazakhstan, Kazakh literature”, “Geography”, “Biology”, “Self-understanding”, Art are planned to be carried out on the basis of museums.
This measure will allow increasing the quality of education, instill a sense of patriotism in the younger generation, love for the motherland and respect for the older generation, contribute to the development of museum affairs, and cultivate a culture of visiting museums among the public, the Minister said.
The Head of the Ministry of Education and Science also cited data on the work of museums, libraries, sports infrastructure and facilities in schools, vocational and higher educational institutions.
Following the meeting, a protocol was adopted by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan to include classes in the above-mentioned subjects in the educational process of general education schools from September 1, 2017.
