The number of people that has mastered the state language increases in Kazakhstan

In 2016, in Kazakhstan, the share of the population that mastered the state language was 82 percent. This was reported today by Minister of Culture and Sport Arystanbek Mukhamediuly at the Government meeting chaired by Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev.

The Minister noted that for comparison, in 2014, the share was 72.1%, and in 2015 increased to 76.3%. At this moment, by using the Kaztest system, each year the number of people who know the Kazakh language increases. In 2016 the total amount of people who passed the test was 73732 people, including civil servants � 40000 (53.5%).

Within the State Program for 2014-2016, around 88 publishing projects were published in the form of teaching aids, works of classics of world literature, children books, educational, scientific and journalistic books, etc. Including the number of projects published in other languages � 24. Also, new Kazakh Sozi methods were developed for learning the Kazakh language, – A. Mukhamediuly said.

Following the results of last year, the share of document circulation in the state language in central and local executive bodies amounted to 91%. Also, in Republic there are 87 regional educational centers for teaching the Kazakh language.

But there are facts of non-transition of reporting statistical and financial documentation to the state language, � the Minister specified.

Recall, in Kazakhstan the language policy is implemented according to the Law On the Language in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the State Program for the Development and Functioning of Languages for 2011-2020.

To date, the implementation of the second phase of this program has been completed.
