The Kazakh-Dutch Business-Forum is taking place in Hague

The Hague is hosting the Kazakh-Dutch Business Forum within the framework of joint Business Council attended by officials and business communities of Kazakhstan and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The event is organized by the Ministry of Investments and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, KAZNEX INVEST National Agency for Export and Investment JSC and the Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers VNO – NSW.

The participants of the business-forum are being welcomed by Daniyar Berlibayev, Co-chairman of the Joint Business Council on the Kazakh side, Executive Vice-President of KazMunaiGas” National Company JSC and Sean Rooney, Co-chairman of the Joint Business Council on the Dutch side, VP Government Relations, Royal Dutch Shell.

The Business Forum is attended by over 100 people from both sides, representing more than 50 companies operating in such sectors as agriculture, food processing, horticulture, water resources, energy, chemicals, light industry, infrastructure and logistics. Business Forum participants discussed further intensification of trade and economic cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kingdom of the Netherlands in various sectors of the economy.

The Netherlands has become Kazakhstan’s one of the most important economic partners for the last 25 years, heading the list of countries investing in Kazakhstan. Today, the economic cooperation between our countries is in the field of oil and gas industry, production of construction materials, some projects are expected in mechanical engineering.

The Chairman of the Committee on Investment of the Ministry of Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Saparbek Tuyakbayev noted that The inflow of direct investment from the Netherlands to Kazakhstan’s economy since 2005 has amounted to USD 67.3 billion. Today, Kazakhstan has created favorable conditions to increase the inflow of Dutch investment capital in the economy of the country. We welcome the participation of Dutch businesses in the projects of development of domestic high-technology and export-oriented production in accordance with the priorities of Kazakhstan’s industrial and innovation policy”.

During the Business Forum, the Kazakh delegation is presenting the Kazakhstan State Program of industrial-and-innovative development for 2015-2019, the package of incentives for investors in priority sectors of the economy, such as mining and metals, petroleum refining, chemical industry, mechanical engineering, light and food industries, agriculture, to Dutch partners. It was announced that attracting investment in these sectors were of particular interest to Kazakhstan. Also, the Dutch business community is provided with information on the Ombudsman Institute, which renders assistance to all investors in solving problems and the One-Stop principle for investors’ relations with government and other agencies. Dutch participants of the event is told of 10 Special Economic Zones operating in Kazakhstan, which provide ample opportunities for foreign investors to implement projects.

In his speech at the event, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of KAZNEX INVEST National Agency for Export and Investment JSC, Mr. Askhat Beisenbayev: “As of 1 November 2016, there are 1,178 enterprises with the participation of Dutch capital registered in Kazakhstan, of them 985 are going concern. We highly appreciate the willingness of the Dutch side to expand trade-and-economic and investment ties between the two countries, and will make every effort to achieve this goal”.

Following the Business Forum results, the joint Business Council Agreement was signed by and between the Kazakhstan International Chamber of Commerce and VNO NCW Netherlands.
