The Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan held bilateral meetings with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Central Asia
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Mr. Beibut Atamkulov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov within the framework of the “India-Central Asia” Dialogue at the invitation of Afghanistan.
The sides discussed topical issues of bilateral and regional cooperation, implementation of agreements reached between President Nursultan Nazarbayev and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
“The Head of State pays special attention to the development of regional cooperation. Our countries play an important role in the integration processes of Central Asia. We will make every effort to further promote bilateral relations with Uzbekistan, “the Kazakh FM said.
B. Atamulov noted that today favorable conditions for the business community of the two countries to establish mutually beneficial cooperation in such highly efficient areas as financial services, processing and food industry, as well as digital industry.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan thanked the Uzbek side for organizing such a dialogue platform, which will allow discussing topical issues of regional character.
The co-chairs emphasized the successful holding of the Year of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan in 2018 and the beginning of the Year of Kazakhstan in 2019.
B. Atamkulov also met with Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov. Trade and economic cooperation, water and energy sector, regional and transboundary cooperation, as well as the heads of the two states. A number of issues regarding the implementation of agreements reached between Nursultan Nazarbayev and Sooronbay Jeenbekov were discussed.
The focus was on economic cooperation. The Ministers expressed their mutual intention to implement a number of measures aimed at increasing mutual trade and diversifying its structure, implementing joint investment projects in various sectors of the economy.
Noting the coordination and similarity of positions of the two countries on topical issues of international politics, ministers expressed their intention to continue active cooperation within international organizations.
That day, B. Atamkulov met with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan – Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov.
During the meeting the topical issues of the regional agenda, the issues of bilateral relations in political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed.
The sides noted with satisfaction the progressive development of the Kazakh-Turkmen mutually beneficial cooperation. Particular attention was paid to the need to strengthen trade and economic cooperation. In this context, the parties discussed a number of topical issues proposed for inclusion in the agenda of the forthcoming session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission for Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation.
Heads of foreign ministries agreed that cultural, historical and linguistic commonality of the two countries is a good basis for further expansion of cooperation in the fields of culture, arts, science, tourism and other spheres. In this regard, the Kazakh side thanked the Turkmen side for assistance in the successful implementation of Days of Kazakhstan in Turkmenistan.
B. Atamkulov’s meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Mukhriddin discussed the state and prospects of the Kazakh-Tajik relations, as well as the forthcoming action plan.
The parties noted the high level of bilateral political, trade-economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation and exchanged views on topical issues of regional and international agenda.
S. Mukhrdid thanked Kazakhstan for assistance and assistance in the development of Tajikistan. It was noted that the Kazakhstani-Tajikistan relations comply with the spirit of strategic partnership.
