The EAEU Prime Ministers took part in the regular session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council
ALMATY, The next meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council (EGBC) at the level of the heads of the Eurasian five leaders took place.
Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Rumas, Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkali Abylgaziyev, Vice Prime Minister of Armenia Mgr Grigoryan and Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission Board Tigran Sarkissian attended the event.
During the meeting, a number of topical issues of integration cooperation within the EAEU were considered. The heads of the governments summed up the interim conclusions on the implementation of the reached agreements and outlined the directions of further work in the EAEU.
Particular attention was paid to trade-economic cooperation and expansion of mutual trade between the member-states, elimination of barriers within the EAEU domestic market, as well as the development of integration potential in certain sectors of the economy.
Signing of the shipping agreement was one of the main events of the meeting. The agreement aims to significantly reduce the access to the internal waterways of the EAEU member states.
Also, the heads of the delegations from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia took part in the second digital forum “Digital Agenda for Globalization 2.0: Innovative Ecosystems of Eurasia”. Within the framework of the forum, topical issues of interaction of digital ecosystems to support and promote innovation and technological entrepreneurship were discussed with the participation of leading international scientists and experts.
