The documentary “The heritage of ancestors” will take part in the London Film Festival
Documentary film “The heritage of ancestors” will take part in the competition program of the London International Film Festival, which will be held on February 16-23, reports ortcom.kz.
The film is a two-step contest for the title of “The Best Short Film” and “Installation in the Best Short Film Documentary”.
This picture by director Berik Zhakhanov is from the cycle “Kazakhstan’s Turkic peoples”, shot at Kazakhfilm studio by Sh.Aimanov at the request of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This documentary is devoted to the Turkic ethnos living in Kazakhstan. In addition to the film “The heritage of ancestors”, the film is directed by Kamila Abdildinova, “The color of taste”, Nadira Saduova’s “Yip”, as well as Dinara Manabayeva’s “Chuvash. Kazakhstan is my second homeland “. The author of each film tried to talk about the tradition, life and culture of the famous nation through the main character. The film “The heritage of ancestors” speaks about Uzbek diaspora and tells about the life of 47-year-old Abdymnop Zuparov, who is engaged in cradle cultivation, and continues his work in the southern Kazakhstan.
“I am glad that our film is participating in such an important festival, and I hope that everything will be a success and our film will be a prize, because the film is a good one,” said Berik Zhakhanov.
Each year, the London International Film Festival brings together diverse film industry professionals – filmmakers, professional directors, and distributors all over the world. The festival is always open to all forms and genres of cinema, especially for young cinematographers, models of cinematography development.
Recall that the film “The heritage of ancestors” won the Oraz Abishev Prize at the VII International Film Festival “Bastau” last year in Almaty.
