The Astana Opera Has Received the Prestigious BraVo Award in Moscow


The Second International Professional Music Awards Ceremony BraVo in the field of classical arts was held on the illustrious Historic Stage of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia on March 19 in Moscow. The Astana Opera became a leader in the category The Concert / Theatre Venue of the Year. The award to the Astana Opera was presented by the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky.

The Astana Opera team has met the news of the BraVo award with particular joy. It is a great honor for us to be recognized by experts and the international music community. We thank everyone for their high regard of our creative work. I am certain that this prestigious award will inspire the Astana Opera team for new achievements, and we hope that the artists’ performance assessment will be a unanimous ‘bravo!’ from the audience, Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan General Director of the Astana Opera Galym Akhmedyarov said.

This evening, beautiful voice of the Kazakh opera star, the winner of the Russian project Big Opera Saltanat Akhmetova will sound from the Bolshoi Theatre stage. The Astana Opera’s Principal Soloist has performed Juliette’s Waltz Song Je Veux Vivre from Charles Gounod’s opera Romeo et Juliette. Outstanding opera singers, world stars Vittorio Grigolo, Angela Gheorghiu, Alessandro Safina and many others also performed for the sophisticated audience. World famous actors Helen Mirren and John Travolta became special guests of the BraVo awards ceremony. The gala evening was accompanied by a performance of the choir and orchestra of the Bolshoi Theatre under the baton of conductor Pavel Klinichev.

Let us remind that the BraVo award is distinguished from other music awards by an unprecedented scale, geographically covering dozens of countries of the Eurasian continent.
