T. Suleimenov: The “Nurly Zhol” state program will ensure GDP growth of 0.5%
In 2017 through the implementation of the Nurly Zhol state program GDP growth will increase by 0.5%. This was reported during the press-conference following the Government meeting by the Minister of National Economy Timur Suleimenov.
According to him, 739 billion tenge were allocated for implementing the Nurly Zhol state program in 2016. As a result, the state program positively impacted economic growth. GDP growth amounted to 1%. Within the framework, more than 105 thousand jobs were created in 2016.
387 billion tenge will be allocated for implementing the program in 2017. The Minister believes that the measures taken within the state program will ensure economic growth and that GDP will increase by 0.5%.
Aims of the program remain the same construction of roads, creating infrastructure for educational facilities, special economic zones, improving the infrastructure of natural monopoly entities within the framework of the Business Road-Map 2020, export support.
The only difference compared to 2016, moving forward the housing issues will be resolved within the new Nurly Zher program. There will be no specific focus. Measures within all areas of the Nurly Zhol program will be equally strengthened, T. Suleimenov commented.
It should also be noted that if in 2016 out of 100 thousand created jobs 70 percent were aimed at road construction, in 2017 it is planned to create 100 thousand jobs in road construction.
Recall, President Nursultan Nazarbayev in 2015 initiated the Nurly Zhol program of infrastructure development. In his Presidential Address Third Modernization of Kazakhstan: Global competiveness the Head of State noted that over the past two years the program fully justified itself and set the task of further development of the construction sector as a full driver of the economy.
