T. Duissenova: Layoff of oilfield workers not expected in 2017
During the Government meeting chaired by Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev, Minister of Health and Social Development of Kazakhstan Tamara Duissenova informed that layoff of oilfield workers is not expected in 2016-2017.
As of September 30, 2016, 99 oil service enterprises with a total of 43.8 thousand employees have risk of releasing the workers, the Minister said.
The Minister also spoke about measures taken to prevent the release of workers.
Heads of companies with workers having flexible working time spoke at the meetings of regional tripartite commissions on social partnership. There has been implemented work on concluding the memorandums between the akimats and heads of industrial enterprises on issues of providing the labor rights, guarantees and social protection. There have been concluded more than 19.3 thousand memorandums in oil-producing regions as of September 30, T. Duissenova said.
The Minister also noted that according to information provided by local executive bodies, release of workers of oil service enterprises is not expected in 2016-2017, with exception of Atyrau region.
Creation of 55.7 thousand new workplaces, including 1.1 thousand in oil industry, is provided within implementation of state and sectoral programs. Moreover, it is planned to continue the work on concluding the memorandums with remaining oil service companies and trade unions on stabilization of production processes and preservation of jobs.
