T.Duissenova comments on information about possible layoff of employees in oil industry

At the briefing in the press center of the Government of Kazakhstan Minister of Health and Social Development of Kazakhstan Tamara Duissenova commented on a possible laying off employees of oil industry in Atyrau region.

T.Duissenova reported that the Ministry in cooperation with government agencies and employers defined a group of workers, who need employment support and assistance. In addition, she commented on the information on laying off of about 3800 workers of the oil industry.

“We have worked with Mangistau and Atyrau regions, Head of Tengizchevroil spoke today, we have worked out the issue with Kanat Bozumbayev and his team. Now as part of the project of Tengizhevroil’s future development there will be created 20 thousand new job places. And we in the working group determined types of work for which new jobs can be opened. Mangistau and Atyrau regions are developing plans, who is ready to employ, and who needs preparation. I would like to note once again, layoff is a forecasted possibility. As Tengizchevroil has started the work, we have received amount of work that they distributed among the contractors, and a possibility of releasing workers is not on the agenda this year. Today Akims of Atyrau and Mangistau regions reported about it, the Minister said.
