Spin the Pedals!

Cycling along the “green belt” of Astana near the village of Ilyinka is guaranteed to bring pleasure and positive emotions to everyone who has ever visited this place. Correspondents of the media center of the Mayor’s Office of the capital switched to bicycles and shared their impressions.

Cycling tracks in the territory of the forest zone have become a popular holiday destination for guests and residents of Astana. Fancy cyclists do not need to maneuver between pedestrians. Here you can go for a ride in your own pleasure.

This is a picturesque place. Fifteen minutes drive by car along Korgalzhyn Highway, and you’re there. Those who do not have their own bicycle can rent it; the rent per an hour is seven hundred tenge.

Next year, they will create a zone for a comfortable and safe recreation there. In addition to the developed network of cycling tracks, infrastructure will be developing there.

“In this territory it is planned to build pedestrian paths with gazebos. There will be sports grounds for playing football, volleyball, basketball, special areas for extreme riding. Also, it is planned to open a modern bike rental facility with showers and changing rooms,” – said Yussup Keligov, the Managing Director for Development of Astana Ormany LLP.

The capital’s cycling network in the “green belt” is effectively used not only during the summer. In winter, ski lovers go on ski there. Over an incomplete year, 27 city and national sports competitions have been held there.
