SMS-notification will be sent to Kazakhstan citizens with a tax debt

The people of Kazakhstan can get information on tax debts by SMS. Minister of Finance of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov said at the Government Hour in Majilis, the agency reports citing Kazinform.

Irina Aronova, deputy of Parliament, made a relevant proposal during the today’s meeting on introducing citizens’ warning system of tax arrears.

“Due to tax debt our citizens can not cross the borders of the country. As of June 2018, about four thousand citizens have been restricted from traveling abroad. Unfortunately, many taxpayers knew about this at the airport only when they went through the control station. This, in turn, leads to time and financial loss of citizens who have not been able to arrive on a planned trip. In this case, is it possible to send a SMS notification to individuals about the tax debt, “he said. Aronova told the Finance Minister.

Alikhan Smailov, in his turn, noted that each taxpayer can know about his debts on the e-gov portal, in the tax office of the Ministry of Finance, through the bank online service.

“We are also implementing a pilot project in both regions. In this context, we provide taxpayers with data on vehicle-related payments in North Kazakhstan and Karaganda oblasts. As a result, this year we are planning to introduce SMS-alerts in Kazakhstan on all types of tax arrears “, – said the Minister.
