Senators will consider a bill to strengthen social protection of citizens
A meeting of the Bureau was held under the chairmanship of the Speaker of the Chamber Maulen Ashimbaev, at which the deputies approved the agenda of the Senate meeting scheduled for September 16, 2021.
On Thursday, the senators will consider the bill “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Social Protection of Certain Categories of Citizens.” The bill was developed in order to ensure the protection of the rights and improve the quality of life of persons with disabilities in our country, increase the size of state social benefits, improve the issues of pensions, employment, social insurance.
Thus, the bill provides for the introduction of benefits for persons caring for disabled people of the first group, in the amount of 1.40 living wage, and it is also planned to increase the amount of benefits for all groups of children with special needs. In addition, the bill spelled out norms that simplify the procedures for registering unemployed at the labor exchange, obtaining the status of unemployed and the corresponding benefits.
During the meeting of the Bureau, it was also proposed to include in the agenda of the meeting of the Chamber the issue of taking the oath by the deputy of the Senate Serikbay Trumov and his election to the standing committee of the Senate.
In addition, the draft Law “On Ratification of the Protocol on Environmental Impact Assessment in a Transboundary Context to the Framework Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the Caspian Sea”, which had been submitted earlier from the Mazhilis, was submitted to the Senate Committee on Agrarian Issues, Nature Management and Rural Development at the meeting of the Bureau. …
