Senate Vice Speaker Askar Shakirov met with the Deputy Speaker of the Upper House of the Parliament of Afghanistan

Askar Shakirov, Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, met with the Vice Speaker of the Upper House of the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Faisal Sami, who arrived in Nur Sultan to participate in the 4th Conference of Speakers of Parliaments of Eurasia.

Kazakhstan remains committed to its international obligations to rebuild Afghanistan and is interested in speedy stabilization of the situation in the country, A. Shakirov emphasized.

The senator recalled that speaking on September 24, 2019 at the general debate of the UN General Assembly in New York, the Head of State K. Tokayev announced Kazakhstan’s interest in restoring a lasting peace in the IRA. According to the President , the Republic of Kazakhstan will continue to support the Afghan people in rebuilding their state.

During the conversation, the Vice Speaker of the Upper House of the Parliament of Afghanistan noted the relevance of the Eurasian parliamentary platform and confirmed his readiness to strengthen Kazakh Afghan inter parliamentary relations.

Mohammad Faisal Sami thanked the assistance provided by our country to the Afghan people, emphasizing the importance of educational projects initiated by the First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
