Senate ratifies CIS Agreement on Cooperation in elimination of emergency situations

The Senate adopts a law On Ratification of an Agreement on Cooperation of CIS member states in Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations.

The agreement was signed on October 16, 2015, at the heads of states session held in Burabay village. The agreement will contribute to the joint coordinated action in the event of an emergency on the territory of one of the countries of the agreement. Ratification of the agreement will enable the exchange of experience in the field of monitoring and forecasting of emergencies, preparing the population for action in the cases of their threat and occurrence, training the professionals of civil protection at the educational institutions of member countries, holding joint thematic conference, seminars, workshops, training aimed at enhancing the efficiency of populations protection on a regular basis, providing immediate assistance in elimination of emergencies of the territory of the parties, Minister of Internal Affairs Kalmukhanbet Kassymov introduces the bill.

According to the Minister, the bill will not lead to negative consequences, and its adoption will mitigate the risks of natural disasters and minimize the negative consequences of emergency situations of natural and man-made disasters on the territories of the parties.
